Research Interests

My research interests include table tennis robot, robot vision, motion control, etc. The table tennis humanoid robot is capable of perceiving the trajectories of a high-speed ping-pong ball with a frequency of 120 frame per second, and it is the first robot that could play table tennis for more than 200 rounds with another table tennis robot. This robot received a high reputation when joining in the 2015 world robot conference and the expedition of the 20th anniversary accomplishment expedition of national high-tech development zone. I have proposed a non-linear bouncing model of a ping-pong ball to model the velocity and spin changes when bouncing occurs. The bouncing model is vital for precise trajectory prediction, and it is adopted widely by researchers. On the other hand, I am developing a bionic vision system which is capable of stabilizing videos based on the principle of the vestibular and is capable of 3D reconstruction without calibration. I have also developed high- power-rate drivers BSA-130, BSA-131 for intelligent robot joint control.

Academic Achievements

1 We have developed a table tennis humanoid robot which is capable of perceiving the trajectories of a high-speed ping-pong ball with a frequency of 120 frame per second, and it is the first robot that could play table tennis for more than 200 rounds with another table tennis robot.
2 We are now developing fast sensing and perception robot bionic eye.
